OmniGrid
IoT & Engineering · Available · v1.0
OmniGrid is a local-first HEMS mesh: ESP32-C3 dongles → MQTT → SQLite rules → contactors, with snapshot-durable store, BLE/QR onboarding, field-trial operational firmware and a web console. Built for African load-shedding and offline yards — rules run on-device when cloud is absent.
Business problem
Solar and inverter telemetry is stranded on proprietary dongles and cloud dashboards that die when power or links do.
Core capabilities
- ▸ESP32-C3 dongles (Tongou, Voltronics, ESPHome samples)
- ▸MQTT gateway (4 sockets → 1 gateway prior gen)
- ▸Snapshot-durable store + SQLite rules
- ▸BLE/QR onboarding
- ▸Field-trial operational firmware
- ▸Web console + MAUI app
Architecture
Hive of dongles → single MQTT gateway → durable store → contactors. Rules execute locally on snapshot; console reconciles when link returns.
Deployment: On-prem dongles + gateway; optional cloud console.
Licensing: Per-dongle + console subscription.
